i started this thread about FMG, steady on.
Twiggy started the company....and is one of Australia's richest men from it.
It's impressive. Packer/Murdoch had their dad's cash to begin with.
Anyway to your comments, it's too expensive in Australia to do much else but mine, so their thought process is we better make that expensive too. Manufacturing will leave completely in years to come, you wouldn't want to own a factory. real estate is overpriced, unemployment will inevitably rise, the world is not in a strong position financially. keep printing the money and something will inevitably give.
our shining light is mining, we have the best resources and infrastructure in the world, and would have to be the most profitable by capita.....so we better tax that too.
going to be some dark days ahead for the world at large i think. this year, next, year after, it's hard to know. but my research suggests a GFC2 will hit, and the first will look more like a ripple.
and on that motivating sentiment hope everyone is having a good long weekend.
