My views on diamond core:

The diamond core gives better results for metallurgical testing as it is whole intact rock. The testing will determine how it crushes and beneficiates (upgrades) under controlled conditions, rather than using RC chips that have already been smashed to bits by the drill bit.

Some of the other benefits of core are:

- more accurate assays (better sample), used for checking against RC data (to ensure the RC data doesn't have any bias)

- better understanding of the orebody (orientation etc can be measured, as stated above) and therefore more accurate geological modelling of the orebody. More accurate modelling of the orebody means a higher category of Resource categorisation may be possible, and when it comes to mining, less surprises in what actually comes out of the ground.

- Structural measurements from the core which allow mining engineers to design an appropriate pit that will be stable.
