The word on the street is that more than one party want in on this world class basin. So the JV partner will be the one that fronts up with the best terms of agreement. I would be surprised if big oil did not bat hard for this.
The region has proven source with 76% of 70 exploration wells yielding oil or gas shows, proximity to China, large mapped structures, top 20 targets unrisked oip range per target 100mmbbl to 2.7 billion barrels. Any deal should be favourable imo.
