When I lived in the US and worked on the markets there the saying was "sell in May and go away", ie summer holidays. Pretty sure most of them didn't stay on holidays for five months of the year !

In recent days there has been a noticable shift in market depth. The number of shares offered for sale now averages double that of shares in the buy side. Thats a huge change in sentiment and as we move into a new month is likely to get worse quickly due to the pending flood of additional liquidity from options.

In fact the smart money (you can guess who that might be) might be inclined to borrow the stock to sell now knowing full well that the lower the price goes the better the chance that they can pick up some cheap options and effectively buy the loaned stock back at 5c at the end of the month !!!
