BIT did contract with a company to complete the trial analysis - ther must be some legally applied time limit.
It could be that BIT requested further analysis if the data was not definitive - or, raised some issues that they wanted to pursue (good or bad). There is an equal chance that there may have been great results they did not expect and wanted to drill further into these. Alternatively, the results may not have delivered all trial expectations.
The COVID trial results will be less complicated than the HIV trial results - plus, these are human trials and not trials using mice - again, more complicated.
The previous COVID trials with mice took two weeks for the results to be announced. At the very least, COVID results should be in by now.
Most of the data would be analysed by computer programmes (that is an automated process) - the interpretation will be in the hands of the technicians undergoing the analysis. They would bring in the medical professionals to check and discuss those findings.
The lengthy delay in releasing results, at the very least, is decidedly odd.
