No. Compassionate use restriction would have significantly limited its use to particular cases. Now it can be used widely. I'm pointing out that it may not take long to hit full swing use in the burn centres that already have accumulated significant experience with RECELL with it now that the brakes have been released.
Furthermore as I understand it, the hospitals will need to purchase it now but previous use under the compassionate program was funded by BARDA at a significantly reduced cost point.
"Funding for the Compassionate Use program was provided by the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), under the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, under ongoing USG Contract No. HHSO100201500028C"
So a significant boost in revenue.
