Yeah I did the same and worked from the source code. I thought about entering both players on their first choice also, but I see on captains list they weren't included, as it is his game and his rules, it is best we abide by them.

The 2 posters were (1) (2). I saw captain questioned one of them but never got a reply back.

There was also 1 person to pick a stock but change his/her mind before the game closed, which their last stock choice was used.

You did well with retrieving the data, 2 mistakes over a course of 361 entries is still more than 99% correctness. I know when I use to do the 3month comps I made a few mistakes with stock codes/starting prices etc., it happens to all of us.
