You say "tell us why human beings should not adhere to thec10 commandments"

Well lets see. Lets examine the teachings of the book for some context about these stone tablets that you want to hang on every wall. Lets take the test and see how many of us survive long enough to hang them shall we ?


Commandments #1 to #4 are nothing more than dictating that people must believe in god, which god they have to believe in, how they should go about worshiping that god and making sure no other god ranks equally ........ yeah, thousands of years of history has shown this is a recipe for peace and harmony !


Commandment #3 .... "Thou shalt not take the lords name in vein" ...... or else ....... "Leviticus 24:16 Anyone who blasphemes the Name of the LORD must be stoned to death by the whole community of Israel."


Commandment #4 ..... "Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy" ....... or else ........ "Exodus 31:15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death."


Commandment #5 .... "Honor thy father and mother" ....... or else ......... "Deuteronomy 21:18-21 If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, “This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.” 21 Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid."


Commandment #6 .... "Thou shalt not kill" ....... except ....... you must stone to death the following people:

Disobediant Sons - Deuteronomy 21:18-21 (but not daughters apparently)
Adulterers - Leviticus 20:10 (like Trump)
Weekend workers - Exodus 31:15
Non-believers / blasphemers - Leviticus 24:16
Mediums and witches - Leviticus 20:27
Kidnappers - Exodus 21:16
Homosexuals - Leviticus 20:13 (again males only, its apparently okay for women)
Bestialiters - Exodus 22:19
Murderers - Leviticus 24:17-20


Commandment #7 ..... "Thou shalt not commit adultery" ....... or else "If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death."


Commandment #8 ...... "thou shall not steal" ...... but don't worry too much if you do. You will only be stoned for this if you steal another mans slave or buy a stolen slave. Thus the common term "buyer beware" ..... "Exodus 21:16 Whoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found in possession of him, shall be put to death."


Commandment #9 ...... "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour" .......


commandment #10 ...... "thou shalt not covet ...... which means "Exodus 20:17 You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”


Okay so now we have all seen the fine print and what you want taught in schools. These nice family values which are going to make for a safer and harmonious life for all. Now who amongst us is safe to leave the house without getting stoned?

Don't get me wrong. Not so worried about saving the kidnappers and murderers etc but stoning to death the kids that work at Macca's for being forced to do a Sunday shift seems a little harsh to me. What about the plumber who is on call when your toilet backs up on sunday? Hasn't he death with enough sh1te for the day without being stoned to death for his efforts? Apparently the Israelites found a man just gathering stick on the Sabbeth and decided that would sufficient cause for death.

I'm also not down with the blatant sexual discrimination that allows women to be disobedient but not sons. Speaking of double standards I'm unsure about what happens if a wife cheats with another persons wife. Do we watch or stone them?

Since Donald Trump was found to have cheated on his wife does this mean he now should be running from more than just the law like a scene from John Wick?
