When the first Tier 1 in-country deal is signed, the details are released, and the service launches, that will be a template that we can point to as showing the way forward, it’ll set the bar for other agreements, after that we’ll find out how it’s going to be received in the marketplace and how rapid the uptake will be.
Right now there isn’t anything. What we might like to happen, against what actually happens, who knows; EM1’s vision of what was going to happen in Africa in 2018 seems to have soured, they barely mention it these days except to make generic statements about the potential number of subscribers.
Anyway, I’m not knocking EM1, I’ll cheer them on for having a go and put up more backing when they ‘show us the money’, as I wrote earlier, it’s a great idea, but touting the thing as having a realistic possibility of a $300m mc, or similar, in the foreseeable future . . . that’s where I draw the line.
Stick to the known facts and there’s less chance of people getting hurt.
