I need only one reason to vote NO! It is this:
The Constitution as it presently stands (and since 1967) is absolutely even handed on the basis of race, culture, ethnicity or any grouping. .... it does not discriminate. The proposed "Voice" would insert a provision into the constitution that establishes a particular preferential access to the machinery of government based solely on the basis of race. It is discriminatory.... and therefore racist. I therefore will be voting No.
What is absurd is that every function and advantage that the 'Voice' is meant to bring could equally be legislated under existing Constitution Section 51.xxvi which says "The Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have power to make laws for the peace, order, and goodgovernment of the Commonwealth with respect to the people of any race for whom it is deemed necessary to make special laws"
