Partially right I believe. No, CVT won't protect a network from a hack attempt per se, .that's more the traditional security setups like firewalls etc.
But, u can't think of CVT just securing a document....we talk about "data" which is all information stored that is or can shared with others.
So, if credit card data or business data is stored and shared or moved around then my understanding is that if encrypted with CVT then if stolen it could effectively be remotely deleted as soon as someone tried to access.
It secures data at rest and in motion from memory. With a lot of businesses heading to the cloud u have to think of ur data not being on a physical server or drive on ur premises or under ur control anymore but under someone else's. Wot CVT offers is a "data" layer of encryption where the keys are not held in conjunction with the data.
U need to generate a key to allow access to the data being shared and the real time revocation I think is the kicker,.
