gas and coal can be mined here. So they can just take a cut. Most oil and petrol products are imported so we have to pay the international market price. They could still cap prices under this but that would require huge amount of tax payer funds. They can just say to coal miners reserve 10 percent production for a strategic reserve at very little cost to the tax payer.
