VIC has Brown Coal that is not exported and QLD owns its power stations and making a sizeable profit from them.
Most of NSW power stations have long term contracts so they are not paying Spot Coal Prices - at a guess I think below $200/tonne
The problem is the price of Gas and the cost of generation and transmission - especially when more coal powered plants start closing - this is what Europe has found - bringing more gas online will only mean more to export at record prices,- lack of gas is world problem
