It is a real shame that they are blaming coal for the issues of gas. Issues induced by the changes to our grid over recent decades.
Gas sets the marginal cost of power. And gas is hostage to a cartel, with no reservation outside of WA for domestic users. That was 'fine' when gas was cheap.
This was all predictable fallout. But to talk about this facet in public would draw attention and call into question the Green Ideology that drove the current formulation of power generation.
Easier for them to demonise coal.
Moral hazard only seems to apply in one direction.
