Yes it's mind boggling because it's so rare. I can't remember a single example in the last 20 years of a stock/sector offering these fundamentals, outside of companies that were in extreme distress (but by definition those companies didn't have the balance sheets that coal stocks have). As Stanley druckenmiller says, the only way to make long term returns that are superior is by being a pig. This for me is one of those opportunities.
