Their “strategy” will be what it always has been, to mine coal and sell it for profit. No government with the possible exception of the greens, would be stupid enough to effectively stifle the source of $ which mining brings to the Australian government. The problem for the labour government is to be seen to be doing something in terms of the environment, while supporting and benefiting from industry. Whatever is said publicly regarding renewables, it is obvious the world will be reliant on coal for a good while to come. Saying things like that though doesn’t win some electorates. N
