Super profit tax on thermal coal is literally robbing Peter to pay Paul, given how little thermal coal is consumed locally. Why not instead insist on guaranteed supply coverage for gas on the threat of gas exports getting taxed heavily... Oh wait, that would actually work and not score any 'brownie/greenie' points being seen to attack the evil coal exports... Pathetic, and it won't work as the coal miners have plenty of lobby money to stop that coming about.
