I think with President Xi Ping re-elected his focus is on promoting the Communist ideaology rather than economic growth and also hard Covid lockdowns.
As China is the largest importer of hard commodities it has had an impact on commodity stocks and the Hang Seng index which is now causing a negative sentiment against some commodity producers i.e an example is iron ore companies and now coal.
