10 years on we still didnt identify tripeptofen. This Friday we should all be clearer on the outcome of PNO, is it a phoenix or a dodo???

MPL SYNTHESIZES TRIPEPTOFEN COMPOUND

PharmaNet Group Ltd (ASX PNO) today announced that its pharmaceutical subsidiary
Molecular Pharmacology Limited (MPL) had successfully synthesized a group of
candidate compounds that are believed to contain the Tripeptofen molecule.
This achievement is a result of the efforts of MPL’s scientific team, working on the
isolation and identification of the molecular structures and biological processes
responsible for Tripeptofen’s analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. MPL believes
Tripeptofen to be a new type of pharmacological agent that works in quite a distinct way
from the anti-inflammatory drugs involved in recent safety concerns and product
withdrawals.
The need for a new analgesic and anti-inflammatory mechanism better suited to the needs
of aging populations highlights the potentials importance of MPL’s drug discovery
program.
The scientific team succeeded in isolating and synthesizing 3 candidate compounds. This
task involved University facilities, private scientist groups and consulting experts, both in
Australia and overseas.
The newly synthesized compounds will be tested for potency and efficacy prior to the
commencement of human clinical efficacy trials which recently received Ethics
Committee Approval.
