YouTube has a mechanism that means that videos that receive a large amount of hits very quickly get 'stuck' showing between 250 and 350 while the video is checked to make sure it's not spam or whatever.
This normally takes a couple of days. Nek minnit the video is showing the true number of hits (usually in the thousands due to the confirmed rate of views and the delay).
Hope this clarifies the discrepancies in numbers. Also worth noting that only 50% of videos get 100 views in the first month, and less than 10% go on to get over 1000 views.
