Thanks Avagadro.
Just to clarify something for some other posters. I am not suggesting that Amazon cannot build their own system if they wanted to. Of course they can.
That should not be the issue of discussion. The discussion is simply is there a reason why Amazon may use GSW rather than develop an in house solution. And if GSW have come to them with an appropriate, easily integrated technology, willing to handle maintenance and support, at a price point below that which Amazon would be able to deliver in house, why would they not outsource? Be that price point 29c, 10c or 1c. The analytics alone are a win for GSW, not to mention marketing value if they are ever allowed to announce they are the ones handling the tech.
The more digging I do with this new context the more things seem to make sense. From "making history" after re-listing after the initial Amazon Ann (you're not making history if you're on selling through web services), to the mention at the AGM that the upcoming Amazon Ann would be "jaw dropping".
And again, I would not base an investment upon this alone. At this stage due to sheer guesswork involved, this is a side story, with N.A Williams remaining the real focus. But as a potential side story, surely this can no longer simply be dismissed as a total fantasy.
All IMO, DYOR.
