Hi all,
Doing my usual research rounds today I found something rather unusual and am curious of everyone's views.
On Appannie there is a new app showing up under the GSW Company published apps (level above where you click on the app from the search bar -
https://www.appannie.com/company/1000200000110193/)
For those without an account I'll save you the trouble and give the link direct to the Appstore:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.getswift.kfg
GSW appears clearly as the publisher of the App: KFG Driver. This App has only been downloaded in Kuwait, and a search of KFG and Kuwait turns up the Kout Food Group. Being relevant because among their clients are Taco bell and Pizza Hut (among others -
https://www.kfg.jobs/en/page/our-brands/), which as we all know are some of the brands belonging to the YUM! group. This significant as GSW stated in the YUM! Ann that the middle east would be the first to roll out.
Initially I was quite happy with this, as I do see it as the first tangible evidence that the deal with YUM! is both real and being implemented.
However on reflection this really has raised more questions than it's answered. Why do KFG get their very own app? Is this the first of many? If so, why have none of the previous clients been given this? Why is the app not customised for their use, rather bearing the generic GSW layout? This is quite an anomaly from my understanding of the GSW model and regular operation.
I have no idea what to make of this. Any ideas?
All IMO, DYOR
