Mike, if someone here had said Tony could STOP the trade in three months I'd have said he was dreamin' and bet a slab of XXXX on it.
What I am left to ponder is why 53% [if you believe Newspoll] don't appreciate that this is a terrific outcome.
Given a choice between controlling our borders and being at the mercy of Indonesian people smugglers it is a no-contest. I would vote liberal regardless of other policies.
The money saved pandering to these [insert your favourite descriptor here] will go a long way towards paying for the DAP which the left says we can't afford. Hellooo! We can't afford open borders either! The open borders would be the more expensive if escalation rates continued to soar, and their is no reason to believe Rudd's half baked desperate solution would slow it down. Turning back the boats is THE most effective deterrent.
Re-reading this I have a thought about how this is so unappreciated. It is the old "What have you done for me TODAY! syndrome. We've seen that, what's your next trick and it better be good.
