    If they are nice and righteous, they should return funds (i.e. pay special dividend) to holders after pay down all debt and expenses... than close the company down.

    But no more high paying jobs for directors.

    A company can pay special dividend even if not listed on ASX. For example, they have $60m+ cash than divide into exactly number of shares... than pay $/share as special dividend as private company.

    Alternatively, MOL can re-list in NSX (National Stock Exchange). A lot of companies not qualify for ASX are listed there. ASX is not the only listing board in Australia.

    Alternatively, they can buy assets outside Australia and list in their local exchange. This means it will be harder for Aussie holders to sell their shares because their broker don't cover other country's exchange.
