I think you've answered your own question. I too remember him saying that and i also remember Wayne Bos standing up and shouting "Show me the money!" like some kind of joke at a shareholders meeting to approve a merger between the two groups. Both instances confirmed to me why it is important to attend shareholder meetings or AGMs as it is the only time you can see and get a feel for how the managment of the company in which you have invested your own money acts and behaves in a public forum. Chances are if they behave like that in public then they are probably twice as bad behind closed doors in private where you can't get to see them. Likewise, going to a Bluescope agm where Kirby Adams addresses shareholders, is why i am more than comfortable having a significant part of my portfolio with him in BSL. An absolute professional in every manner and a far, far cry from what Taylor or Bos will ever be like. Unfortunately there are many, many poor directors in our public company system but it's up to us, the investor, to find them out and avoid them like the plauge.
