I'm concerned blanket policies for Hedging impact negatively on too many companies, I understand the need, there s/be an opportunity for revision & negotiation - for that both the lender & the borrower need to be well versed in the market conditions.
My other concern with poorly set hedging is, employees who may have worked their hearts out suffer due to poor business performance due to the negative impact of hedging.
The person hedging must be capable of negotiating from a point of reason/science to ensure the lender doesn't stymie the business.
I'd ask all those involved in hedging to look at the current market climate & variables, perhaps a monthly review - definitely not set & forget!
