Opec said (maybe they are all princes - I think they are putzes) average $177 by 2040 - I take that to mean it will mean the annual average in 2040 has risen to $177/Bbl. Are you suggesting an interpretation could be avg $45Bbl now and then for a period avg $350Bbl to give a period average of $177/Bbl. Or maybe its a volume price weighted average?
Most common would be the simply to use CAGR - we seen that all over every O&G E&P presentation.
Be great if those tankers sank in the Straits of Hormuz (no environmental issue there is?) and blocked export.
