Be aware that LCT's primary focus is type 1 diabetes rather than type 2 which is the one that results from lack of exercise and eating high energy foods. Type 1 (or Juvenile diabetes) is the 4th largest cause of death in the western world and currently directly costs Australia $100mill per year. Indirect costs include the longer term results of heart disease, greatest cause of blindness, amputation and suicide. This, in no way diminishes the amazing news they released today.
