First it was Xstrata's deal with EXCO and today there is confirmation that negotiations are underway for Xstrata to acquire 51% of Altona's [AOH] Roseby prospect.

This is a good sign that Xstrata thinks copper has a long term future in the north west as it is expanding its underground operation at Ernest Henry as well.

Wayne has managed to steer CDU away from the type of arrangements mentioned above and CDU remains in control of 100 % of its assets. CDU is going mining in its own right.
