Lucky, I just spoke to the BBI Investor Info line and they tell me the settlement date for any purchases must be before the ex-div date if you want to receive the div.
So then I spoke to Westpac Broking and they tell me the you can buy the day before the ex-div date and still receive the div even though settlement will take place after the ex-div date
....hence my confusion!
