Yeah that's what I thought. Even Barry Cusack sometime back mentioned the figure to reopen the mine would be "north of 2 billiion". But the AFR article quoted the current MD Peter Taylor's claim of around 300m from an interview just over the weekend so it's definitely the most up to date figure provided. It's curious how they managed to suddenly shave 1.7b off the capex requirements in an environment of rising contractor prices and higher mining capex everywhere but who knows.
