    It is amazing what the big banks can achieve by changing the accounting rules to hide losses, transferring their bad loans to the US taxpayer via the Fed, milking the borrowers, and using various techniques to manipulate markets in their favour in order to earn trading profits. On the other hand the smaller fries in the US banking systems are being left to die off, leaving a much more concentrated banking sector.

    There is a somewhat similar story in OZ with the big 4 banks getting bigger, and the borrowers paying for the mistakes of the banks, just like post the 1987 crash.

    It is wonderful when the govt deems your business is too big to fail, no matter that you have created the disaster.

    I must remember this picture in case I live long enough to benefit in the future from the next major financial disaster by buying the banks to gain massive capital gains and a guaranteed high renter-like return for life.
