We are currently looking at doing something similar with our baby daughter except 4 investments by $500 which will be funded by the baby bonus. This is what we have come up with so far although havent yet acted on it.
1. WES - very good diverified company
2. One of the bigger banks
3. Large retailer such as Woolworths
4. Resource stock either RIO or BHP
