    The core would be assayed at 1 metre intervals . The core is cut basically as it comes of the drill for examination ( hence the pics from the 23 rd and 25 th Nov ). Most labs work 24/7 when the work is on ( the local one at Orange does ). The samples for assay are delivered to the lab and then ground up and then the pulp is put in a small crucible and put in a kiln . The next process can depend a little on which minerals are being looked for ( no idea what they use for U ). So TAS for MS1 are looking for 900 samples for assays , which is no big deal for a modern assay lab which handles large volumes . The whole lab testing shouldn t take more than a few days. Of course there maybe a waiting list considering there is a mineral boom. To be honest after 3 weeks since the pictures of the Nov TAS announcement , I d expect the assays to be done by now.
