Authorities this morning intercepted the fifth boat of suspected asylum seekers in four days - and the 105th stopped in Australian waters this year.
HMAS Bundaberg stopped the latest boat north of Christmas Island this morning.
Home Affairs Minister Brendan O'Connor said initial indications were that 10 passengers and two crew were on board the boat.
Border Protection Command on Friday stopped two vessels - one being towed by the other - near Christmas Island.
There are about 5000 asylum seekers being detained on the island and on the mainland.
