Also of interest, one of the Abbott government's first planks in the 'one-stop shop' approach to approvals, the Tasmanian Major Projects Approval Agency came online July 1st. It's a federal agency, operating out of the Dept. of Industry (Ian McFarlane is the Minister), and it will help guide proponents through the approvals process:

While it doesn't necessarily follow that proponents who go through the agency will get faster approvals, there will be pressure on the new agency to achieve accelerated approvals (so that they can justify their existence). This is good news for Venture, especially with respect to Mt. Lindsay.
