One 'unique problem' for a JV/takeover for these SA stocks might be the BEE factor. and NKPs BEE is such a big shareholder.
If i was a predator I would like a majority share holding and the BEE is in the way. They might get watered down after a JV but considering only about %40? of the Co is available and much of that so long held and put away in some drawers in Australia..
The BEE G doesnt even have mining expertise and their chosen manager? DMA only have a small holding and committment so far.
G is the major/only? negotiator here and would have to offer/sell/trade some of their shares at a price that they are satisfied with.
Or What?
buy the 40% they dont hold?
Have I got this line of thought right?
Sh's in Australia think of themselves as the main factor but they are the minority and I am trying to think from Gs perspective....
any comments are most welcome.
