Spot on. I think they're likely earning very little with AirPlus. I am not a huge fan of lending, because it demands capital, but I still think they're missing out not rolling a lending solution other than backed by cards. If they don't want to develop SPX as a lender, they could use their prime access to originate loans for a third party lender. Brokers get paid very well...
Not clear how these folks will make any money, but they don't seem to care anyway...
