I think most of the people on this forum are sophisticated traders.

Yes - most on here are currently bearish - that's in stark contrast to the figures I'v shown in my above post for AAII and VIX. Ozzie Vix numbers are extraordinarily complacent, And AAII Investors are the least pessimistic for years. Those figures are good representations of the "herd" - this forum contains a group which don't fit into the "herd".

The guys here are pretty good from my experience.

Although the population of the XJO has changed multiple times over the past twenty years, the guys that turn up here always seem to maintain high levels of insight.

The "herd" on Hot Copper tends to be found in the penny dreadfuls. Not here in XJO.
