I dunno about that not achieving 100Mt of DSO.

As a comparison of peer companies taken from their own asx announcements

AGO 25/07/08 DSO 39.1Mt @ 56.3%
BCI 18/07/08 DSO 28.0Mt @ 57.4%
BRM 24/06/08 DSO 56.2Mt @ 57.5% (not counting ore requires processing)

As you can see the above company's publically stated DSO resources all have a lower Fe % then UMC's total resource of 111.3Mt @ 57.7%......

So in their eyes the UMC total resource would be catergorised as a DSO resource whereas UMC has only catergorised Fe grade over 60% as DSO.

Technically one could then argue that we have indeed achieved 100Mt+ of DSO.

Interestingly the combined DSO resource of the above three totals 123.3Mt compared to UMC's total 111.3Mt
Only another 12Mt to go to match it.

Not a bad effort really to go from discovery hole to JORC in 12 months!!

Just another example shown of MM's conservatism and ethos of understating and over delivering..

No cubic zirconias with this lot....you get the real diamonds with UMC
