RBC says budget incentivises SMEs to spend more on tech
Tom RichardsonShare Broker RBC says listed tech companies in its coverage universe like ELMO, Xero, NextDC, Megaport, and Macquarie Telecom could all benefit from budget funding for SMEs to spend up to $100,000 a year on tech and claim it as a bonus deduction.“SMEs with aggregated annual turnover of less than $50 million will be able to claim 120 per cent of the cost incurred on digital technologies such as portable payment devices, cyber security systems, laptops, cloud computing and other technology related services,” said RBC. The government announced the funding that could benefit large parts of tech services providers as part of its drive to support digital adoption among SMEs.
