Management Profile
Brendan Borg is a geologist with 20 years’ experience gained working in management, operational and project development roles in the Exploration and Mining industries, with companies including Rio Tinto Iron Ore, Magnis Resources Limited, IronClad Mining Limited, Lithex Resources Limited, Sibelco Australia Limited, and most recently Borg Geoscience Pty Ltd. He specialises in the “battery materials” sector, including lithium, graphite and cobalt, and has participated in numerous successful projects, in an investment and/or operational capacity. Mr. Borg played a key role in the selection of the Opuwo Cobalt Project and exploration conducted by Celsius Resources to date.
What is your rationale for attending 121 Mining Investment?
Celsius has progressed the Opuwo Project from an exploration project to an imminent maiden JORC compliant Mineral Resource, due to be reported in February, 2018. Our attendance at 121 Mining Investment is aimed at raising awareness of the Project to groups interested in battery minerals projects, particularly in Africa, and to commence developing relationships with these group for possible collaboration as we progress towards development.
What recent news would you like to highlight to investors attending?
NextSource is currently seeking an equity investment of US$25 million, which will Initial Resource Drilling Program concluded in December, 2017. During December and January, we have been reporting assays from this drilling, and will continue to report these during February, culminating in the reporting of our maiden resource. Concurrently, we are progressing key Scoping Study work programs including metallurgy and mining studies, results of which will be reported as they come to hand, culminating in the delivery of a Scoping Study in Q2, 2018.
What are your key goals for the next 3, 6 and 12 months?
3 Months:
Deliver Maiden JORC compliant Mineral Resource.
Commence exploration on new areas within the project.
6 Months:
Deliver Project Scoping Study, and assuming positive results, commence Pre Feasibility Study.
12 Months:
Complete Pre- Feasibility Study, and commence Definitive Feasibility Study.
What do you see as the key risks and challenges facing your company at the moment and how are you overcoming these?
Delivering development milestones on schedule. Celsius are currently seeking to expand project team to address this risk.
In a sentence, what do you think makes your company such a compelling investment?
Exposure to a rapidly developing, large scale cobalt resource in a mining friendly and stable jurisdiction (Namibia), against a backdrop of strong and rising demand for cobalt and escalating prices.
