In opinion:
Appreciate your analysis. I agree with yours and @Haplo comments but as far as I know KDR has Bounty tenement %100 which from my understanding is not part of the JV. In this case KDR has Mt Holland and Earl Grey as part of their 50 / 50 JV and further upside with Bounty.
The thing for AVZ to possibly learn from this (if I'm correct) is if a JV is the way to go, keep some %100 owned tenements while they gain industrial expertise focusing on the primary resource/s. As another %100 resource increases value over time it can used for leverage. More income or more slice of the JV pie. Win win for shareholders.
