Argo's 2008 annual report, released today, gives the usual figures comparing its performance to that of the All Ordinaries Accumulation Index.
For the ten years to June 30, 2008, ARG shares returned an average of 13.6%pa, compared to 11.5%pa for the index. (CPI rose by 2.5%pa.)
Despite the recent market turmoil (with XJO well off its highs), both index funds and high-quality LICs like Argo remain excellent long-term investments.
