you are Dave, even if some of the candidates have not resigned effectively before nomination, it is not going to alter the overall outcome of the election results. If a Labor candidate won the seat but the result is declared invalid causing a by-election, the voters will vote the Labor candidate back in the by-election. A bit messy, but it is not terminal for Labor.
I haven't seen the list, but some of the Labor candiadtes might be in unwinnable Liberal seats anyway.
It will be tragic if the coalition wins the election that way. Democracy in Australia will never recover from it. So, for the sake of political stability in this Australia, let's hope it doesn't come to that.
