There are all sorts of reasons for selling - and I am sure most are not 'silly'.

Perhaps some are pursuing better short term or long term opportunities elsewhere. Anyone, for example, who sold PEN yesterday afternoon and bought SMA are much better off this afternoon. Whether it satays that way who knows.

Others may be happy with their 100-200% or more gains and now wish to enjoy it - buy a house, go on holiday, donate to charities, help a family member and so on. The list is endless.

You don't really want to hang on to your gains until the day you die!

Of course, it would be nice for us if people didn't sell until the day after we want to sell - but it doesn't work that way (unfortunately).

The only 'silly' sellers would be those that were panicked into selling by the sentiments expressed in HC posts - particularly the posts from those who are transparently trying to get the SP down.
