SMC Gold Ltd chairman Mr Peter Evans told the annual meeting today that
the company's Chilean assets had been purchased for a fraction of their
full value.
"Much has been accomplished since we moved onto the Compania
Minera Tamaya site in July," he said.
"With limited funds because of the non completion of our capital
raising which began in April, the company has lifted the plant capacity
to 1000 tonnes per day.
"We have plans to move immediately to 1500 tonnes per day which
will make SMC highly profitable.
"The only danger we see to the above strategy is that we
continue to operate with limited working capital."
