precessing jet technology came from SA  - name of the company escapes me but they designed and built the burners for the Sydney 2000 olympic relay - they basically created a flame with two conditions, burning carbon out of the gas first to soot plus carbon monoxide, then fully combusting both in the tip of the flame. 

At the end of the day, the heat released from combustion is the same with one advantage - the soot heats up and releases radiant energy as well - it's a way to greatly improve heat transfer from a gas flame and common now in industries worldwide.  The heat from the gas gets turned into radiant energy instead of flue gas heat.
