Well respect to you @Virgil73 you obviously have the nerve and smarts to be holding SWM but you will be very happy and (I say politely) wrong come September 2025.

This current SWM fire sale is brought about largely due to the ad market recession (which began when interest rates were hiked 13 times by the RBA) rather than SWMs capital allocation decisions. Case in point is that NEC which pays out approx 70% of NPAT via dividends has also been dragged down massively back to Covid-19 lows (along with other media businesses suffering from this ad market recession including OML, SXL, A1N).

The first RBA interest rate cut (which is expected sometime in the first half of 2025) will drastically shift the ad markets momentum and this coupled with $165m of federal election ad spend, new AFL digital rights, project phoenix, VOZ rollout etc will cause growth to come back to the Total tv ad market and a much higher SWM share price to eventuate before September 2025.

A dividend being declared would be the ultimate cherry on top but for all intents and purposes the momentum in share price will shift well before this.
