rhsurfer - when a company failed to do something by the deadline, the market always get spook. I don't know whether the deal will goes through or not but given the fact that there are two companies making the bid and that the first bidder was willing to raise the initial offer by a substantial amount suggest to me that the interest is firm. Although nothing is set in stone :)
